Martin: The Fitzgerald letters are so endearing. It is like sneaking into someone's heart. I am still reading all her personal letters. I suppose the writerly ones (I only read one) will sound different.

I haven't read The Blue Flower. Intend to read everything over a period of time. Now if I could only get my hands on the out of print biography of Burne-Jones...

How are you finding the Fitzgerald letters?

I was very impressed with The Blue Flower. I picked it up thinking that it might be a book for ladies of a certain age - not at all. She did something really interesting with what was obviously an abundant knowledge of intellectual and social history.

I enjoyed reading this post.. I love making lists too, though mine are never as intelligent as this one!

I am usually surprised by people who warm up to babies immediately. I mean how HOW do they do it? - My sentiments exactly! Not that I hate babies, but how can you get all cosy within a wink??
