On the Chennai Metblog, I have a post on Anglo-Indians - part flashback, part information.

Dear Lavanya,
The entry on Anglo Indians reminded me of the times when I went to the day care centre. Our teacher ran behind us yelling "children, careful, mul! mul! (thorns on the rose bush!!)". Absolutely delightful people they are!!! Kudos for the time spent for them...

Thanks Ammu!

Lavanya,

First time commenting. That was very good post. It kindled some of my childhood memories as we have a anglo-indian community's colony close to our house in Trichy.

Echo - Keep going pal! Awesome post. I studied in a similar school (sadly boys only school!) Still some of the stuff you said was very similar! Fond memories. For me - LKG to 12th was an Anglo Indian school experience....was nice!

Sundaresan - thank you.

VJ - Montfort isn't it?

It was Holy Cross in Salem!!!

About me

  • I'm Echo/Lavanya
  • From Chennai, India
  • So, we are curious now? My folks named me Lavanya, and it does have a meaning. I named myself Echo, for this blog. And that has a meaning too. Therefore, I have more than one name; I can walk; I can talk; I can read; I can even write; I can count - 9 'I's already and that is absolutely disgusting; I can also lie about numbers. Do you need to hear more?
